We partner with public and private landfill owners to capture methane emissions and convert landfill waste into valuable RNG.

Decomposing municipal solid waste (MSW) in landfills represents a significant source of renewable natural gas (RNG) feedstock. As organic materials such as food scraps, paper, and textiles break down, they generate landfill gas composed of roughly 50% methane. We capture this gas through a network of wells and collection systems and upgrade it to RNG. Our LFG projects reduce uncontrolled methane emissions while transforming existing waste streams into reliable, long-term renewable energy assets.

We work with industrial wastewater partners to reduce their operational emissions while transforming production byproducts into reliable, on-site or pipeline-quality renewable energy assets.

Industrial facilities including food processing plants, breweries, pulp and paper mills, and other manufacturing operations generate high-strength organic wastewater as a byproduct of production. This wastewater, rich in biodegradable material, is treated through anaerobic digestion to produce biogas that can be captured, cleaned, and upgraded into RNG.

With a large portfolio of agricultural RNG projects, we are helping our partners reduce methane emissions, improve nutrient management, and create long-term renewable energy assets that support farm sustainability and rural economies.

Agricultural operations generate organic waste streams such as livestock manure, crop residues, and other farming by-products from dairy, swine, and poultry facilities. Through anaerobic digestion, these materials produce methane-rich biogas that is captured, upgraded, and converted into renewable natural gas.

Food and organics projects reduce landfill methane emissions while converting everyday waste into scalable, low-carbon energy solutions.

Food and organic waste streams from households, grocery stores, restaurants, vegetable canneries, and yard trimmings generate biodegradable material suitable for energy recovery. These materials are diverted from disposal pathways and processed through controlled anaerobic digestion systems to produce RNG.

WWTP projects reduce facility emissions, create a beneficial use for waste by-products, and provide a reliable, community-based source of renewable energy.

Municipal wastewater treatment facilities generate biosolids and sludge as part of the treatment process. Through anaerobic digestion, these materials produce biogas rich in methane, which can be captured, upgraded, and converted into RNG. These processes generate a consistent, year-round feedstock with significant untapped energy potential.

At Mobius Renewables, we harness methane generated by organic waste streams – landfill, agriculture, food, industrial, and wastewater – and convert it into RNG to power communities, transportation, and industries with low-carbon energy.

During anaerobic digestion, organic material decomposes in an oxygen-free environment, producing biogas composed primarily of methane (CH₄) and carbon dioxide (CO₂), along with trace compounds such as hydrogen sulfide (H₂S), moisture, and siloxanes. The biogas is collected through a controlled gas handling system and directed to upgrading equipment, preventing uncontrolled methane emissions.

The raw biogas undergoes treatment to remove CO₂, hydrogen sulfide, water vapor, volatile organic compounds, and other contaminants. Through processes such as membrane separation, pressure swing adsorption (PSA), or amine scrubbing, the methane concentration is increased to meet pipeline specifications. The resulting product is RNG with high purity and consistent energy content.

The upgraded RNG is compressed for pipeline injection or liquefied for transport, depending on the delivery pathway. Once injected into a natural gas transmission or distribution system - or delivered via virtual pipeline - it can be used for transportation fuel, thermal applications, electricity generation, industrial energy demand, or integration into RNG supply chains.

We begin with rigorous technical and commercial analysis to ensure every project is viable from day one. This includes RNG characterization, landfill Gas Collection and Control System (GCCS) assessments, anaerobic digestion modeling for AD projects, early-stage permitting reviews, interconnection analysis, technology selection, and preliminary capital cost estimates.

By identifying risks, optimizing system design, and validating economic performance upfront, we ensure projects move forward with clarity, confidence, and a defined path to execution.

With feasibility confirmation, we advance projects through formalized contractual alignment with our feedstock partner and finalizing the engineering, permitting, and procurement strategy. Our team manages permit preparation and filings, engages key stakeholders, finalizes system design, and secures long-lead equipment to maintain schedule certainty.

We navigate complex regulatory frameworks with precision—reducing delays, mitigating risk, and positioning projects for seamless approval and construction readiness.

Mobius Renewables oversees construction with disciplined project management and hands-on technical oversight. For landfills, this includes well field development and GCCS integration; for AD projects, gas collection systems and plant construction are carefully executed through experienced general contractors.

During commissioning, we validate performance, optimize system efficiency, and ensure full operational readiness — delivering safe, on-time, and on-budget project completion.

We structure durable off-take solutions that maximize value across compliance and voluntary markets. This includes pathway verification, regulatory positioning, risk management assessments, and long-term contracting strategies aligned with market dynamics.

Our disciplined commercial approach protects revenue streams, reduces exposure to market volatility, and secures predictable, long-term financial performance.

Operational excellence is the foundation of long-term value creation. Through real-time monitoring, advanced SCADA systems, proactive O&M programs, and rigorous safety and compliance protocols, we ensure consistent, high-performance plant operations. We also manage pathway validation, GCCS optimization, and system expansions — continuously enhancing output, improving efficiency, and extending asset life across the project lifecycle.
